Some books I like enough to own

Miracle Creek - Angie Kim

I don't read a lot of fiction, and to be honest I only skimmed through some of the chapters that were tangential to the plot. I normally like stories that are heavy on character development, maybe the characters themselves didn't interest me much. I was a lot more curious about what would happen next; I'm pretty satisfied with this being the first courtroom drama I've read and I'm interested in reading others.

The Curated Closet - Anuschka Rees

I see this book as being about understanding your preferences so you can make better decisions rather than fashion per se, but it does have solid advice for applying those skills to clothes shopping. A couple years ago, I did the exercise near the beginning where you take a picture of your outfit every day for two weeks and notice what you like and dislike about what you wore, which helped me internalize the ideas a lot. It slightly bugs me how little variety there is in the style of outfit photos the author includes, but I get wanting the book to have a cohesive look. She uses a pretty good variety of styles in written examples.
